The effect of moderate- and high-intensity interval training on substrate oxidation and nutrient preferences in obese men
نویسنده
چکیده
Methods Ten obese men participated in cross-over 4-week moderate(MIIT) and high(HIIT) intensity interval cycling. MIIT consisted of 5-min stages at ±20% of mechanical work at 45 %VO2peak, and HIIT consisted of 30-sec work at 90 %VO2peak and 30-sec rests for 30-45 min. The assessments included a constant-load test consisted of 5-min rest, 45-min cycling at 45 %VO2peak followed by 60-min recovery. Intermittent measures of gas exchange using indirect calorimetry were undertaken, and ad libitum meal was provided after the test. Consent to publish the results was obtained from all participants.

The effect of different intensity circuit resistance training on inflammatory and anti-inflammatory markers in obese men
Background: Obesity is associated with chronic inflammation in obese subjects, which leads to an increase of inflammatory cytokines. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different intensity circuit resistance training on levels of interleukin 1 beta and interleukin-10 in obese men. Methods: In a semi-experimental trial during May to August 2020, 44 obese men from Tehran city were selecte...
متن کاملEffects of Low-Intensity Resistance versus High-Intensity Interval Aerobic Training on Serum Interleukin-6 Concentration and Insulin Resistance Markers in Obese and Young Men
Introduction: Regular exercise training is a useful strategy to reduce inflammatory markers, but it is still unclear what type of training is better. Thus, this study compared the effects of 12-week of low-intensity resistance (Low-RT) and high-intensity interval aerobic training (High-IAT) on serum interleukin (IL)-6 levels and insulin resistance (IR) markers in obese and young men. Methods I...
متن کاملThe effect of interval and continuous training on the content of perilipin 1, ATGL and CGI-58 in visceral adipose tissue of obese male rats
Background and Aim: Obesity is an excessive accumulation of fat and its storage due to an imbalance between energy intake and energy consumption. High-fat diets, through inhibition of lipolysis enzymes can lead to increase in obesity and also many metabolic diseases. While exercise can activate these enzymes and lead to a change in the amount of visceral adipose tissue and reduce obesity. The p...

Background & Objective: Overweight and obesity as health issues have now received researchers' attention globally. The present study is a comparative investigation into the impact of two methods of high and moderate aerobic exercises on serum leptin levels and fat oxidation. Materials & Methods : Fourteen obese females at a mean age of 22.08 ± 6.2 years, body mass of 78 ±12.72 kg, height of 1...

Introduction: Obesity is a very important cause of many chronic diseases. One of the ways to control weight and obesity is to have regular physical activity and the use some medicinal herbs. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of ginger supplementation per se and in combination with high intensity interval training (HIIT) on the anthropometric indices and serum levels of ir...
